A city rich in history, Savannah, GA was founded in 1733 when General James Oglethorpe first sailed up the Savannah River. Savannah was the first capital of the Georgia, the 13th original colony of the United States.
Savannah's history is evident in the unique architecture and land planning of the Historic district. 22 moss draped, park like, squares varying in size and design serve as a beautiful way to link the downtown area together.
Savannah's proximity to the ocean creates entertainment and commercial possibilities. Tybee Island with miles of sandy beaches is just a few short miles from downtown Savannah, and there are an endless number of creeks, rivers, and marshland that border the city. The port of Savannah is also currently the second largest port on the eastern coast of the United States.
Today Savannah is one of the most vibrant cities in Georgia and benefits from a strong sense of history coupled with an eye towards the future.
